Connected World Magazine Announces 2010 CW 100

Carol Stream, Ill. – Oct. 7, 2010 – Connected World magazine today announced the 2010 CW 100, a prestigious list of the most innovative technology providers of M2M and connected devices. This year’s listing was published in the November issue of Connected World.

The CW 100 represents the top companies demonstrating market traction and pursuing game-changing technologies in connectivity. Chosen by the editors of Connected World magazine, the list provides a guide to the companies truly making a difference in connected devices and M2M.

The connected devices marketplace continues to flourish. Despite the current state of the economy, technology-conscious consumers have continued to pursue connected gadgets and smartphones, and this bodes well for the members of the CW 100, whether they are supplying those connected devices, or providing the technology that powers them.

“The endless demand that we are currently seeing for connected devices, across multiple verticals, has a significant effect on the level of  competition we will see in the marketplace. In order to stay competitive, companies must display considerable innovation, strength, and staying-power—traits you can find throughout the CW 100,” says Peggy Smedley, editorial director, Connected World. “Now the challenge to these companies is to persist in moving forward, adapt to this ever-changing climate, and continue to rise to the occasion.”

Companies appearing on the CW 100 are chosen from a selection of hundreds of firms, both private and publicly traded. The criteria for the listing include: sales and earnings growth, contribution to the connected-devices space, and innovation in multiple markets served during the past 12 months. Companies must also have more than $10 million in annual revenue and have good standing in the marketplace.
