AERIS TO SHARE EXPERTISE AT THE NEXT GENERATION UTILITIES TECHNOLOGY SUMMIT 2008

Aeris® Communications (www.aeris.net), the leading wireless communications service provider dedicated exclusively to the Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and telematics marketplace across North America, will be hosting a workshop titled "The Smart Utility Must Be a Connected Utility" at The Next Generation Utilities Technology Summit, September 15-17, 2008, in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Chris Purpura, vice president of marketing for Aeris, will host the workshop of approximately 20 CTOs/CIOs. The workshop will focus on network communications strategies to support the next generation utility needs, and how business and application requirements should drive an architectural framework for using the network technology choices available in the market. Technologies that will be discussed include: public wireless (cellular), private wireless, BPL, fiber and mesh.
The workshop will be hosted by Aeris in conjunction with the following participants: Ed May, director, AMI business development, Itron, Inc.; Chris Holmes, vice president business solutions, Current Group LLC; and Jeff Tolnar, chief technical officer, BPL Global.
Purpura will also speak on a panel titled "The Power of the Smart Grid." The panel discussion will focus on AMI/AMR and real-time communications for the smart grid. Aeris is the only vendor participant on the panel.
