Automotive Intern

Where are you from?

Clearwater, FL

What do you study and where?

I go to the University of Florida and study computer engineering.

Favorite Aeris project that you have worked on?

My favorite project at Aeris has been the micro service that I created that automates database deployment. It has been a really great learning experience to create a tool that can actually be used at Aeris and to learn how to take a java program and package it into a micro service that can be modified with environment variables and deployed with one click.

Favorite experience with the interns?

My favorite experience with the interns has been our adventures exploring the Bay Area on the weekends.

What have you gained from the internship?

I have gained both technical experience and professional experience learning about what it is like to work at a tech company. I have learned a lot about Java, Git, MySQL, and Docker. I have also had the chance to present a demo of my project to the entire engineering team, pitch Aeris to an investment company, and work on a project in a professional environment.

What advice would you give someone considering an Aeris internship?

I would tell them that Aeris provides an amazing opportunity as a first internship experience. The managers give you challenging projects that will actually be used by the company but also provide guidance to make sure you don’t feel lost. Everyone in the office is very supportive and want you to be successful.

What is your most unforgettable memory at Aeris?

The most unforgettable memory at Aeris is the friendship I formed with the interns, especially the two other interns in the automotive department.

What is your favorite part about working at Aeris?

My favorite part about working for Aeris is that they make sure that the interns have a summer. The time here really flew by with AerWalks twice a week, ping pong tournaments, office parties, and the intern outings.

What made you choose Aeris?

I chose to intern at Aeris because I wanted a chance to learn what it is like to work in a tech company and learn about how I can use what I am learning in school and apply it to my career.
