Favorite Aeris project that you have worked on?
I worked on a project to automatically generate KPI reports for the company. The process was normally done every week and involved manually copying over data from Jira into Microsoft Excel, and then from Microsoft Excel into Power BI. Now, the reports can be viewed online and are always up to date.
Favorite experience with the interns?
Going to the boardwalk and Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz with all the other interns was a ton of fun. It was great getting to know everyone better through fun rides and good food.
What have you gained from the internship?
Along with many technical skills, I’ve also gained a greater understanding of the work environment and culture at Aeris. I’ve become a lot more familiar with what it’s like to work in an office environment for a tech startup, and I’ve gained necessary skills needed to thrive in this type of workspace.
What advice would you give someone considering an Aeris internship?
Definitely ask a lot of questions and try to absorb as much information about working in the industry as you can. Even if the skills you’re learning don’t seem very technical, they can still be extremely valuable for the future.
What is your most unforgettable memory at Aeris?
I’ve enjoyed getting to know all the other interns over conversations during lunch and other fun company outings. I’ve really developed a lot of friendships and have learned a lot from all of them
What is your favorite part about working at Aeris?
I’ve enjoyed the independence I’ve gotten when working on my projects and being given the freedom to solve problems in the way I feel is best. It’s also great seeing how much the projects I’ve worked on actually benefit the company.
What made you choose Aeris?
I chose Aeris because I really wanted to see how software and hardware integrate, and IoT is the perfect industry to see how it is done.
