Aeris Appoints Dr. Rishi Bhatnagar as President of India Operations

New Delhi, March 8, 2016, 11:30 IST –  Aeris, the pioneer in the Internet of Things (IoT) and M2M technologies, announced today its expansion into India and the appointment of Dr. Rishi Bhatnagar as the President of Operations for Aeris India effective February 2016.

Dr. Bhatnagar will bring his extensive IoT and leadership experience to guide business growth as well as manage Aeris’ investments, governance and key stakeholder relationships within India’s growing IoT market that is expected to boost India’s GDP by up to $1 trillion by 2025, according to recent data from McKinsey & Company. He will also oversee operations in Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific for the company. On top of this potential growth for IoT in India, the Indian government has announced plans to create a $15 billion IoT market over the next five years, making up almost six percent of the global IoT industry.

“This is an exciting time to join the Aeris team,” said Dr. Rishi Bhatnagar, “With Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi having a strong focus on building a digitally empowered nation, the timing could not be more perfect for Aeris to venture into this market. It is an honor to work with a company known for pioneering IoT and M2M, and continuing to be a leader in the growing industry. Aeris understands the challenges customers face in all aspects of creating a successful IoT program – from building an application, ensuring connectivity, to deploying and managing it.”

“We are delighted to have Dr. Bhatnagar as President of our India operations,” said Marc Jones, Chairman and CEO, Aeris. “Our business is expanding rapidly in all geographies, and we believe that India is on the cusp of explosive growth. Dr. Bhatnagar’s experience and leadership will help to accelerate our momentum and strengthen relationships with our key stakeholders in India.”

Before joining Aeris, Dr. Bhatnagar was the Global Head of Digital Enterprise Services at Tech Mahindra, where he spearheaded the IoT initiatives for the company and smart city projects.
