June 18, 2012

Embedded Works to offer Aeris’ product and services portfolio for out of the box development

San Jose, Calif., June 18, 2012Aeris® Communications, the only cellular carrier built exclusively for machines, announced today it has entered into an agreement with Embedded Works Corporation, a value-added technology distributor, to provide M2M customers with products and services that accelerate the development of M2M solutions.

By working together, Aeris Communications and Embedded Works make it simple for customers to purchase the leading M2M products and services through Embedded Works’ e-commerce website. Once the device is received, developers can immediately begin working on their M2M application since devices work out-of-the-box with an active data connection the moment the device is powered on. With Aeris and Embedded Works, the hassle of having to directly contact carriers to set up user accounts and connectivity are a thing of the past.

The Aeris network provides Embedded Works’ customers access to the only M2M network built from the ground up to optimize performance and lower the operating costs of M2M applications. Since Aeris owns and operates the only network dedicated to machines, Aeris can provide the reliability, flexibility, control, and efficiencies that machines demand.

“Customer choice has been the hallmark of our success, and with Aeris we are now able to provide our customers with the best CDMA network for M2M,” said Andy Do, Embedded Works president. “Aeris has shown its network is ‘automotive grade’ which assures our customers the reliability and uptime needed for today’s dynamic M2M landscape. Our customers rely on us to provide the most innovative and reliable solutions that help push the boundaries of what is possible in M2M; and with Aeris, we deliver.”

“With Embedded Works, customers now have a fast, simple way to get devices that work out of the box and are immediately ready for development,” said Mark Cratsenburg, VP of sales and marketing at Aeris Communications. “Helping developers hit the ground running is very important to Aeris, and we continually strive to make it easier for them get to market faster.”
