Expanding its global footprint, Aeris has become a member of the International M2M Council (IMC) and will join its Board of Governors.
Syed Zaeem Z Hosain, Aeris founder and CTO, said the IMC is one of the few industry groups that truly supports enterprise users of M2M technology on a global scale.
"Joining the IMC enables us to extend beyond our North American roots, by working in conjunction with IMC's Adopter Member communities from around the world in to assist us in honing our products and message," Hosain said in a statement.
"Aeris provides cellular connectivity and software platforms that are specific to M2M applications, and is particularly active in the automotive telematics, telemedicine and smart grid sectors all areas that the IMC has chosen to concentrate on," said IMC executive director, Keith Kreisher. "We welcome Aeris' added expertise and perspective to the board."
The IMC is the largest and fastest-growing trade group dedicated to the global IoT/M2M sector with over 4,000 members joining since February of 2014. Board Member-Companies include Aeris, Amdocs, AT&T, B&B Electronics, Deutsche Telekom, Digi International, Inmarsat, Iridium, Kore, Numerex, Orbcomm, Synapse Wireless, Telecom Italia, Telit, Verizon, and Wyless.
The group says it is a global trade association for the M2M/IoT Sector, with a mission to increase M2M deployments by proving the business case for the Internet of Things by bringing together solutions providers and adopters of M2M technology through its member services.
