In June, Aeris co-hosted the first Prototype to Production workshop. Working with our partners MultiTech, Future Electronics and ARM, we welcomed more than 40 participants to the Hacker Dojo in Mountain View, California. The attendees received four hours of intensive hands-on training in connecting devices to the internet via cellular technology.
Getting started with IoT technology is complicated, even for seasoned developers and engineers, so Aeris and our partners covered the best practices for concept-to-commercial development, including the launch of IoT products. Participants also learned how to do rapid prototyping using a cloud-based compiler and how to use an application enablement platform to collect and store IoT data, obtain insights from it, and securely publish the data. Lastly, they got tips like which crowd-sourcing libraries to use for add drivers from common sensors and peripherals.
In addition to the training, each participant also received a development kit for use in building their own connected devices.
Aeris and our partners intend to offer the workshop again later this year. If you would like to be notified when applications are available for this free event, click here.
